So Little time ....

We are so pressed for time these days! We're finishing up our week-long move on Friday and Saturday but I want to share a few pictures while I have the chance. One is of our house, pre-move - it shows our living, dining room and kitchen.

Next is a picture of all three kids with Tate in a little seat called a Bumbo - new to me with kid #3.

Finally, a picture of a picture Tyler drew. It's of Satan (in serpent form) blowing out a candle and it says, "I do not love God. I am Satan." then, "No, Satan" - a product of sending your kid to an Independent Baptist school!!

Tate is smiling!

Tyler's Christmas Program

This morning Tyler had her Christmas Program. Here's a picture of her with her K-5 class. She had the closing remarks saying, "Thank you for coming and have a Merry Christmas". Her class also sang "Frosty the Snowman", recited Psalm 100 and a poem about a snowman.

And now ... Tyler!

Just have to write to brag on Tyler ... (mostly for the grandparents sake) ... yesterday on our way home from school, she said, "Mom, there are four oceans." Of course, I had to stretch my brain back to 7th grade Geography to be sure if she was right or not and then I said, "Yep" - then she told me three of them and had a hard time with the Indian Ocean. Then she tells me there are seven continents and proceeds to name them all. I was impressed.

Then, later that night she recites Psalm 100 - from memory - perfectly. We haven't worked on this with her at all - she comes home from school having learned it and knows it perfectly.

Tate at two months

Tate had his two month doctor appointment today. I was impressed with his weight gain - he came in at 13 lbs, 3 oz - more than I had expected. He's 23 1/2 inches long.

Funny things from Eben

This picture shows what happens when I let
Eben take a picture of something. Despite many attempts to show him how to take a picture, he insists on holding it towards himself.

Two funny things happened with Eben on Thursday. One was that in five years as a mom, I performed my first nasal cavity extraction. Eben put a Cocoa Puff up his nose while we were driving to the grocery store. He started saying "Oww, oww, oww" and I looked back and could tell what he'd done. It came out really easily but he had chocolate snot the rest of the day.

Later, after grocery shopping, the lady at the cash register gave him a small tootsie roll pop. Eben chewed it up and got to the center and while I was putting the bags in the car he said, "look, chocolate" and then "it's like poop."

I've caved and gotten a blog!

Well, yesterday I sent out a mass email to update all our friends and family on our lives here in Mississippi. I realized, maybe it's time to get a blog.

So, I've done it and I hope you all can stay updated on what we're doing. We live far away from pretty much all our friends and from all our family - so this may be the best way to keep up. What this blog is: pictures and blurbs about the growth and activities of our family. What it is not: philosophical or theological musings.

Hopefully I'll actually keep up with this - it is my intention to but we'll see!
